Becca Allchin
Dr. Becca Allchin is a population focused Occupational Therapist with expertise in mental health services, international development, evaluation and research. She has 30yrs experience in public mental health services, as a clinician, practice-based researcher and service development, and more than 20yrs using research as a practice change tool related to mental health, families and lived experience.
Completing her PhD on sustainability and family-focused practice in 2020, she currently works part-time at both Monash University in research translation as a Research Fellow, and Eastern Health Mental Health and Wellbeing Program in service development as FaPMI (Families where a Parent has a Mental Illness) coordinator. Becca’s dual role and long history of industry-research partnerships has given her extensive experience in collaborating with local and international stakeholders to translate research into family-focused practice. A member of the Prato International Research Collaborative for Change in Parent & Child Mental Health since 2016, Becca leads a project group of senior international researchers exploring the spread and sustainability of family-focused interventions and is lead author on a perspective publication published in a special issue of Frontiers in Psychiatry April 2024.
