Hwei Lan Tan

Hwei Lan is currently a senior lecturer in Occupational Therapy in the Health and Social Sciences cluster, Singapore Institute of Technology. Her interest in parenting as an occupation stemmed from her own experience as a parent. She is keen to be involved in supporting this emerging area of practice through collaborative research.

Hwei Lan’s current research interests are in how assistive technology (specifically smartphones and apps) promotes independence and quality of life for people with vision impairment, as well as co-design work. She hopes to extend her research in how people with vision impairment can be supported in the life role of being a parent in future.
